Effect of Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation on Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction in Older Patients: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.

103명의 노인 환자를 대상으로 경피성 귀 미주신경 자극의 효과를 조사하였다. 미주신경 자극군에서 수술 후 인지 기능 장애의 발생률이 유의미하게 낮았으며, 염증 반응을 억제하여 인지 기능을 개선할 수 있음을 시사하였다. 연구의 한계로는 수술 종류와 환자의 기저 질환이 다양하다는 점이 있다.
