29명의 아급성 또는 만성 목 통증 환자와 33명의 무증상 대조군을 대상으로 한 연구이다. 척추 조작 요법 후, 환자군에서 경추의 운동 범위와 이완도 간의 상관관계 변화가 관찰되었다. 연구의 한계로는 표본 크기가 작고, 이질성이 존재할 수 있다는 점이 있다.
