When a cure becomes the pathology: mechanical bowel obstruction due to herbal pharmacobezoar. A case report with review of literature.

복통과 3일간의 완전 변비로 쇼크 상태에 빠진 64세 여성에게서 개복술 중 회장 협착 부위 앞에 뭉친 정제 덩어리가 발견되어 장 절제를 시행했고, 환자는 복용해 온 한약 완하제와 닮았다고 확인했다. 약물위석은 수술 전 진단이 어려워 자세한 병력과 영상 소견의 대조가 중요하다.
